Welcome to all fans of the off-road. We have been blessed in California,
Nevada and Arizona to have the pristine beauty of the Mojave Desert in our
own backyard. Because we are adventurers by nature we often times find a
need to explore the past, and, in doing so, create a future for us and our
families. We tune up our rides, and gas up our tanks. Then we wait for the
day that we mount up and ride like our forefathers did so many years
before us…
The anticipation of riding
the vast unknown, of tackling the treacherous terrain, of surviving the
elements is more than enough for us to handle…Yet I often times wonder
“What causes this reaction from us???” Is it the open air? Is it the
taste of the dirt as we ride through those desolate trails, or is it the
sights and the sounds of Mother Nature at her almighty best??? Yet those
of us here all share in this common human instinct…...The need to ride in the
Mojave Desert…....
Recently a group of us decided to ride from Barstow to Laughlin down on
the Old Mojave Road. This trail was a step back in time when the Mojave
Indians set their path from the Colorado River to the Pacific Coast to
trade their produce and goods. This ride entailed 150 miles of sand, rock,
dirt and water. By no means is this a ride for the weak hearted, yet
through it all, all 45 riders banded together and arrived as one. Maybe
not all at the same time! But, We Arrived and Survived as One… As we sat
around that night reliving our life changing experiences, we decided to
continue this tradition. In order for us to do that we need a vehicle to
help get the information out and so begins the life of the MOJAVE
DESERT RIDERS off road club.
We are a group of 70
family and friends that have joined to help educate and experience the
vast natural beauty of our local deserts. Whether it be riding the dirt of
the Mojave Desert, blasting the sand of Glamis and Dumont, or boating on
the mighty Colorado River. These are all wonderments of our beautiful
desert life. Each has something to share and each has something to teach.
If you share in this
commonality with us then come on board and join the MOJAVE DESERT RIDERS.
You’ll find the group to be very family orientated and most of all very
adventurous. We plan regular trips to local desert camp grounds in the
winter and boating on the Colorado in summer. If you are interested click
